Welcome Friends, Old and New:

If you are just stumbling upon the shop for the first time, please be sure to take a look at the "Shop Views". There are literally hundreds of thousand of textiles of every kind imaginable; buttons, fabrics, laces, vintage and antique clothing and more. Whether you are a textile artist or designer working in industry, or a quilter doing some holiday sewing and gift making, a miniature doll artist or a college student looking for funky party wear, there truly is something for every one. This is not a website in the traditional sense, since I am not offering anyone item for sale over the net. Instead this is your invitation to email or call with a request or to visit.

I have always thought of this as the "rag" business, in its most old-fashioned sense: bits and pieces of discarded fluff (to some) are often lovingly re-purposed into the most wonderful: garments, quilts, doll-clothing, christening gowns, valentines and costumes of all types. Come in for inspiration or maybe just a little pick-me-up and you will find 19th buttons, patterns, trims, wonderful hand-made lace and beautiful embellishments for any budget. If there has been any one find that I am especially excited about this past year, it is the recently expanded collection of antique and vintage trims. I have branched out to include a contemporary cotton tape that has a nice antique look, a staple for so many of you.

The shop is always open Brimfield week until at least 6 pm. Our regular, non-Brimfield hours are daily except Tuesday from 11 - 5. Finally, be sure to check out the Not To Be Missed section of this website. I know when I go venturing off to a new area, I like to know what's in the area so that I can justify the gas $$$. I have so many favorites and have listed many shops and shows of all types that I think kindred spirits will enjoy. This of course, is only a partial list as there are many great shops, just in the Sturbridge area. Come visit!
